It has a 17 digit VIN, so this is an export model. I think this one's a custom convertible actually since I don't think there were open top models offered in Japan, much less as an export model. I'd be very surpised if it has functional drop-down doors like the Z1! But it is cute. |

No info around but there seem to be a handful in Aus, particularly around Queensland with a few as rentals on Magnetic Island (as Baube's link, but it's blank for info. According to this blog on a resto project: "Saw an L200 Topless for sale, instant love ... 28 hours later I arrived home and am now the highly proud owner of 1 of 12 L200 Mira Topless’. This one is apparently one of the two prototypes ....". Someone else adds "I actually think there was either 40 or 50 of these done and not just 12. I heard either 40 or 50 many many times over the last 5-6 years but never heard 12 before, but who knows.". So looks like an Aus conversion in Queensland area, maybe even as specials for Magnetic Island resort rentals - reminds me of a fleet of Crayford Mini Convertibles as rentals in Jersey/Channel Islands. But who did them still unknown. |
