Why is that surprising? It’s quite modern.

My friend who owned this car: - /vehicle.php?id=1408012

now has a 3 litre which is approaching its hundredth birthday within a year or two, it is still on the road and it is his only car.

Plate info is problematic. Everyone says 1350 CD is a RR, but no-one gives a model name, except insurance sites. Most sites follow DVLA
✓ Taxed Tax due: 1 March 2021
Vehicle make ROLLS ROYCE
Date of first registration May 1966
Year of manufacture 1966
Cylinder capacity 6230 cc
Export marker No
Vehicle status Taxed
Vehicle colour BLUE
Date of last V5C (logbook) issued 26 March 2020

... which if everything is solid would match SS1 or possibly a Phantom V.

AA Insurance says
1350 CD 1980-1989 ROLLS ROYCE SILVER 6750cc 4 Door PETROL Automatic

Sainsburys Insurance says
ROLLS-ROYCE SILVER SHADOW 6230cc Petrol Automatic
We think your car: Was manufactured in 1966

1350 CD plate was Brighton early-mid 1960, early in SC2 period. I guess from plate info that it's adorned various RRs over the years. Current photos as a blue wedding hire show normal SC1 or SC2 - http://petebresser.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/IMG-35.jpg , https://greenscarriages.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/019.jpg - with what looks like an incorrect mix of SC1 spiders eyes and SC2 shiny chrome side grilles.

The Minder capture looks as if spiders eyes with dull side grilles, so probably SC1, which means 1350 CD was not its first plate, even back then in the 1980s.

An illustration of a point?

Is it not outside the realms of possibility that this is a SCIII with a rebuilt front end?

Doesn't seem to have SC3 rear badge in the gloom. Confirms SC1/SC2 knobbly bumpers at both ends.
