The name is on the front. Autocar?

I keep thinking either Western Flyer or Fitzjohn for some reason.

I Don't read "Autocar" on the front (see the 2nd or 3rd letter in the 2nd thumbnail, its rather a letter like "y" "j" ... )

Right, the whatever-it-is character is too thick to be just one single "t." The capitalized letter is either a scripted "A" or a very strange "S."

Could be a "Crown Coach Company" because I think to read SuperCoach on the front. Now have to find a pcture to be sure.

You're right, or it's an old Crown Coach from the forties or another coachbuilder very close

PS ...Roadmaster58 .... we were at the same place in 1993-1994. Never seen a black 1987 Cadillac Coupe DeVille ?

You were in MN? I was in sixth grade!
It does look old even for this time, because if the first letter is an "S," the bottom part of the "S" in chrome is broken off.

Here's a front-engined Crown from the 1940's, but the grille's kind of big:

Appears to be a Kenworth school bus.

The bus gods have spoken, yet again.

Through a thorough examination of Kenworth's bus production lists (for which I have the entire production list) and consulting with a longtime GilligCoaches.NET contributor, I've been able to identify this bus as a 1940 Kenworth Model 610 with a Wentwin (Wentworth and Irwin of Portland, Oregon) body. It was originally sold to Taft School District in California through Bakersfield Garage and Auto Supply in 1940, and was later traded to Crown Coach Incorporated, who subsequently resold it to T&T Bus Service. Its serial number is 50900, and was equipped with a Hall-Scott 190 gas engine.

I was not aware that Kenworth built buses.

The buses here are circa 1939-40 are Wentwin ROADLINER. They were built on a Kenworth 610 chassis. Note the ROADLINER logo on the front of the bus. This bus was built by Wentworth and Irwin (Wentwin) of Portland, Oregon and powered by Hall-Scott Engines. https://www.flickr.com/photos/14024074@N05/52518556396/sizes/o/
