Oxford S2?? |

S2 has an air intake about 12” wide by 1” high at the base of the screen but in the scuttle, ie not opening with the bonnet. S3 does not, but has deeply fluted bonnet. If you can see either feature, you can name the car. It appears to have over riders, so less likely to be a Cowley. /vehicle_35581-Morris-Oxford-1954.html Series 2 /vehicle_1240761-Morris-Oxford-1956.html Series 3, note - early model without chrome divider for two tone paint scheme. -- Last edit: 2020-06-21 00:15:53 |

Local builds were Oxford S2 (55-57), Isis S1 (55-56) and Oxford S3 (57 only) - no idea about numbers made. The Isis may have had a small pimple indicator below the headlight, not seen on the Oxfords. No mention of Isis S2. I think a flat not sculpted bonnet; can't see what vent style, nor if pimple indicators. Oxford S2 my best guess - it had the longest duration anyway. |
