In another thread it was argued to list all Madrid taxi Chrysler as "Chrysler Diesel". Perhaps some Spanish car specialist can say what the badge next to "Chrysler" could stand for...

Actually it seems to be the rectangular DIESEL badge that identified the 1976+ Chrysler Diesel. From what I can remember, it would be very unlikely to find a petrol-engined 180 being used as Taxi when there was a diesel-engined version available.

And just because the engine is diesel the model name is going to be as well :??:

Yes, ineed; the Chrysler 180 with diesel engine was just called 'Chrysler Diesel'...

It's funny to see a Dutch guy explain that to a Spanish guy ;)

nope, it is impolite to ask for someone's age, and dont say still, theres a very big age difference here and he logically has a bigger aknowledge of cars than me...

I've been reading about cars for 40 years now, and I have always wanted to know more about them. Now I found a place to join my knowledge with people who often know much more and who for sure are all very interested, That's just great! Thanks :)

Adrian, just for the record - I was just trying to be facetious ;)

Mike - I do admire your knowledge. I have actually written a long article on the Chrysler 180 and consider myself a fan, but had no idea about that!

In which thread, please?

I remember, that in a Chrysler 180 I had a first experience with high speed. I was 4 or 5 years old, when a friend of my father took me for a ride. I was totally fascinated and upset, that he drove so fast, that I could see the tacho-needle on 140 km/h! This was very impressive. At that time my father had a 1967x VW 1300. This explains it.

A light brown plastic-180, made by Norev, still exists in the box with my childhood-toy-cars.

I also have some literature about the 180 in my collection - compulsory. I'm collecting everything about the K 70, and because both cars were brought on the market at the same time, also as rivals, in the most of the car-magazines of that days are articles about both cars. Also in several comparative road-test, both cars have been together.
