Which was the rare civilian one based on S-Type but with this shinier grille?? We have a few somewhere which I think chris40 used to get excited about. Not RL, but something else .... |

Specifically the 1957 Bedford RSHC1. RL=4 wheel drive long wheelbase RS=4 wheel drive short wheelbase H=civilian use C=cab/chassis The shiny grille came with the 1957 facelift at the same time as the C-type (lesser S-types) introduction RS Tipper showing increased ride height Without seeing a front dif, the one in the movie is a normal 1957 S-type (4x2) by the ride height and headlight position. -- Last edit: 2020-03-05 13:25:29 |

S-types were 7-tons (the big Bedford). However from the 1957 facelift the same S-type cab was used on the smaller C-types 4, 5 and 6 tonners, until 1961 with the TK replacing both S and C types. |
