By what I understood from French Wikipedia, such two-tone paint could be 1958 (or 1958+) thing... |

from what i can translate 1958 would be like this one, 1959 would have only the top, pillars and rocker panel painted with the 2nd color but i don't know the car and results on google gets me really confused |

Yes, Google results can be tricky, as some cars are listed with model years and others with production years, additionally there are to find even pre-1957 Dynas (old taillamps) with paint in the same style - I guess they are not original. Despite what Wiki is saying, such two-tone paint is to see also in 1959 MY brochure. Anyway, this dot above rear badge is lock, then judging by DynaMike comments on other Dynas, it was added for 1958 MY. One more curious (OT) thing - top of taillamp had red and bottom orange transparency - funny that indicator was under red and not orange "glass". |

French cars (and Australian) had amber reversing lamps Also stop lamps could be amber or red for many years, for other markets (including Norway, until 1971) |

True, in France they had yellow reversing lamps till early 70s, but in known to me examples it was bright yellow and not something so dark. This would fit to French reversing lights color -> http://storm.oldcarmanualproject.com/panhard/580405.JPG , but so far only in this brochure I'm able to find Dynas with such taillamps. However these pics look like colorized, so they rather don't show real colors and this must be the reason. But what's the most important - when I'm looking longer and longer on recent pics of Dynas, I must admit that in fact orange is at the top Sometimes bottom of taillamp looks for brighter or vice versa and this is confusing, but this rather has something in common with picture lightning or with these taillamps age and condition. |

Yes, this is either a 1958 Z12 or a 1959 Z16 Grand Standing. On the 1958 and the first 1959 models, the upper part of the doors (around the windows) was in the same colour as the roof and the lower side deco. The later 1959 models had the upper part of the doors in the basic body colour. See the difference in these two pictures: And yes, the taillights are a bit strange on these Panhard Dyna Z The upper (red) part is taillight and indicator (one bulb with double wiring 20/5 W) the lower (amber) part is stop and reversing light (one bulb 15 W). I guess the amber-over-red taillights seen in some modern pictures are remakes. Here's our Panhard: ![]() |

Lovely car but the dual tone doesn't really fit it. |

Thanks, DynaMike, I had a feeling this was what we see but it just seemed too weird, even back then... |
