Bedford CF 1983-MY only, before the introduction of the CF2 - New plastic door mirror but old up-swept door handle painted black (rather than bulkier symmetric design). |

^ When the CF was introduced it used the old HB Viva type door handles. In the early 1970s they had to be replaced due to safety regulations with a redesign protecting the exposed push-button. Vauxhall-Bedford styling rejected the first proposal for a completely shrouded symmetric design in favour of an up-swept handle that only covered the upper part of the push-button (similar to Ford's Escort handle at the time). Only for the fully shrouded design to be adopted later at the time of the CF2 introduction. A similar fully shrouded design was also introduced on Bedford Trucks at the time. |
