Bedford? |

This one looks more American than British. The design harmonizes so any British lorry is excluded. |

Looks like a double dose of Bedfords?? Each showing the famous-outside-Germany British design harmonisation .... |

Undoubtedly Bedford O-types. The last time I looked Luton was in GB. After 29 March who knows? /vehicle_1132254-Bedford-O-Type-1952.html -- Last edit: 2019-02-09 15:13:37 |

We all have our own personal borders, obviously Gamer is both far too young, and of the wrong nationality to recognise a Bedford lorry, but when I was in short trousers if it wasn’t a Fordson 7V, it would have been a Bedford, with the occasional Austin K or Morris-Commercial thrown in as additional interest. Before I get splutterings from the heavyweight boys, I’m referring to the cheap, throwaway everyday lightweights, not the premium stuff. Bedford didn’t use the slogan “you see them everywhere” without reason. As far as the comment concerning British design goes, has he seen a SOS FEDD? Another piece of truly English design for Gamer, the SOS DD(FE) prototype. Link to "midlandred.net" |

Better than the 1912 Lanchester Thirty-Eight... -- Last edit: 2019-02-11 18:11:42 |

Lanchester cars of that era were very innovative, whether the innovation was desirable was another question, but the quality of the engineering was beyond doubt. |

I think what you called 'innovative' would just leave us continental folk scratching our heads. Innovative, in my book, is building a car with two engines for emergency and accidentally creating America's first V8 in the process, all because your car went out in a downpour: http://theoldmotor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Carter1-600x387.jpg Innovative? Yes. As you say, whether the innovation was desirable is another question. -- Last edit: 2019-02-11 21:25:38 |

Innovative? Try this..... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balance_shaft And this..... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_W._Lanchester And then ask yourself about the Europeans who used the innovations that came from Lanchester now you are informed a little about what he did. -- Last edit: 2019-02-12 00:00:55 |
