Possibly seen also in 'Asylum' (2005) /vehicle_905900-Bedford-KZ.html |

MYR 961 was London July 52 to Sept 53 "allocated in blocks"; nothing found on checksites which is slightly odd but date and a-i-b series seems reasonably believable. |

Despite 'The Bletchley Circle' and 'Asylum' both being Lomas bodied ambulances, the same 'MYR 961' registration also seen here on a Spurlings bodied Bedford KZ. -- Last edit: 2021-06-22 19:03:20 |

Bedford M-Type Ambulance Lomas. Bedford ambulances were commonly on the KZ chassis however 'XYG 286' does look to have a considerably longer M-type chassis, therefore I tend to agree with the eBay description as here. /vehicle.php?id=1529315 It poses the question why a longer body was necessary on this Lomas ambulance as I guess streacher length is normally the determining factor unless it was as patient transport for a larger number of people. Alternatively a Lomas cab has at some point been grafted onto a longer chassis making a rather odd-ball ambulance. |

Now found that according to A Pictorial Review of Lomas Ambulances chassis type Bedford KZ ML2 was used on some (or many?) 1950s ambulances so a K-type on an M-type length chassis. |
