411 or 412? I've never understood difference. |

It's quite difficult indeed when you can only see the rear... The headlights of the 411 (1969+) are ovally shaped or double round lights in an oval frame, whereas those of the 412 (1973+) are double in a trapezoidal shape. Also the indicators of the 412 are bigger and placed higher. The 2- and 4-door sedans had also different rearlights: just above the bumper for the 411, just under the beltline for the 412. But the estate... On the pics I've got I get the impression that the 412 Variant had smaller lights, whereas the 411 Variant uses the same rearlight as the sedans. Therefore I'd go for a 411 Variant (1969). |

... which although unexpected reversal of usual update scenario seems to work, with 412 lights being thinner and leaving a gap above bumper So agree 411 here. First Variant in UK was Sept 69 E, replaced by LE in Sept 70. |
