dsl ◊ 2017-04-13 19:46	Turns out Rob Walker was a 300 SL fan "My Mercedes-Benz 300SL by Rob Walker ....... My 300SL was the first one to be delivered to a private owner in this country, on 31 December 1954, and was followed a week later by one delivered to David Brown." - from column in Motor Sport, August 1955. And it was the car he was driving during the incident on the A3 when Mike Hawthorn fatally crashed. Seems it was chassis 198.040.4500141. No idea if he still had it in 1991 (film date) and/or it's the same one used onscreen. Edit - he also had chassis 198.043.5500840 (same link) -- Last edit: 2023-12-08 03:09:30
