Schwarzie se fait poursuivre par les méchants. Ils cassent sa superbe berline Cadillac, année 1957, qu'il avait restaurée à grand frais.

What a lovely car chase! The car is a 1957 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixtey Special sedan. I could tell by the extended trunk.

It's a '57 but NOT a "Series 60 Special". The latter has twin reversing lights on the rear valance and no emblem on the rear fins. This looks to me like a regular "Series 62 Sedan" [85% sure]

It was downright obscene what they did to this car. What's the excuse for destroying a classic car for a film set in the future?

I helped build the Cadillac movie cars for The 6th Day. There were about 5 made, and one was a short car. 4 of them had the stainless rear end on them. The bottoms were all cut out and 67-72 GM truck rear suspensions were used, as well as 70-81 Camaro front clip with 350 Chevy's. They all had bosch H4 headlight with PIAA bulbs

Really!?!?!?!? So they were just mock ups huh? Were they built from real Caddies or entirely custom sheet metal and interiors?

Hold the phone. That sounds like those others were modified, and the actual one is safe? I really like that car. I remember when it plunged down into the river at the bottom of the gorge, I cried seeing that scene, although the stunt car for that scene was likely pulled out. You did a really good job at building them.

The cars were all real to begin with. There was a "hero" car that was used and it was all 57 cadillac. Most of the cars had the worst rust. They all had full roll cages. There was one car that was different. One had either a longer or shorter wheelbase. You could tell because of the distance between the back door and the back wheel. The one that went over the dam was all stripped out and had no motor, trans or fluids
