I'm not sure if I understood everything well, maybe you already knew about it Sixcyl. There is an interesting story about this car. Actually the film was finished and Mercedes was in all scenes, but some important guys from the ministry said that it is a too big icon of 'bourgeois' like for the vehicle of main character and should be replaced with something else. Polański has found that 403 is the most similar in a shape and there is no such 'bad' connotations with it. Later when they refilmed some scenes with Peugeot, the minister of culture visited the filmset, he arrived in a brand new... Mercedes. -- Last edit: 2007-08-14 18:12:41 |
