Sales outside Scandinavia started in 1958 but in very few numbers. Export to the US started in 1959 and I'd guess the first Amazon would have found it's way to Japan in about the same time. Last years for the tires with the 2-¼" WW was 1963, it was an option this year. The name Amazon was not used outside Scandinavia, instead they used the names 121 and 122 S. The US only got the 122 S since the 121 was thought to not have enough power for that market, I think most cars for export was 122 S. I'm not sure about the colour, it could be: 19 Svart (black) 1957-1970 31 or 35 Midnattsblå (midnight blue) 1961 only 80 Grafitgrå (graphite gray) 1963-1966. With this in mind I would call it a 1959-1963 122 S Made for: J. |
