Anorak comment but they did not have QL's at Dunkirk in 1940 as they didn't start making them till 1941. In 1958 it would have been so easy to get a 1940 look truck like a Bedford OY ! |

All true. There were so many OYs (and MWs) left behind at Dunkirk that the Germans were able to use them for the rest of the war, although they were regarded as fairly lethal as German drivers weren't used to right-hand drive. |

It has been said that by August 1940 the Germans had more Morris Commercials ( from Dunkirk ) than the British army, and this may be true ! -- Last edit: 2013-07-03 11:04:41 |
