This Pierce-Arrow is huge and was in working condition. Sadly it gets destroyed

Difficult to tell which year it is because the styling remained the same for a long time. This car is not older than 1916 which would make it six years old when this was filmed. I'd say it's a 1916 Pierce-Arrow Vestibule Suburban

Now I'm waiting for Pilou's judgement ;)

I think that the unit here is somewhat more recent than 1916 or 1917 and it may be a 1920 car.First it has no cooling vents above the hood and no cowl parking lights .Those were eliminated by Pierce Arrow in 1920 .That year, the parking lights were incorporated into the headlamp unit.
Secondly it has a more modern body than the documents I have of the 1916/1917 66 hp A series 4 with Vestibule Suburban body .Those had "suicide " front doors and oval door handles whereas on this unit front doors are opening in the safe direction and door handles are straight. The body here is squarer.
On the other hand it cannot be younger than 1920 because it is right hand driven and the last right hand driven Pierces were built end 1920 ( Pierce Arrow was one of the last US automakers to shift to left hand drive).
So I would go for a Pierce Arrow 49th model 48 hp Six Vestibule Suburban on the hughe 142 inches wheelbase of 1920.That the car was dismantled in the movie is a mystery but it may well have been remounted afterwards.Anyway advice of the Pierce Arrow Club would be welcome!

I informed Pierce-Arrow club and here is what P-A specialist thoughts about this car:

"Although the car you identify as a 1920 Vestibule Suburban is similar to that model, it does not match exactly. I think the car is a made-up car for the movie. It appears to have an early cowl (round convex vertical corners, not blended into the body) and slightly convex headlight top contour (rather than concave that sweeps up from a tangent point on the fender). Both of these cues point to a 1913-14 front assembly (and probably chassis). The body was probably made by the studio, especially since they knew how to take it apart.

The fourth window on the side of the Vestibule Broughams (shorter rear window) and Suburbans thru 1920 always had their lower rear corner curved - this one is square. The tops of the cars in that era also had a slight graceful curve to them - not flat like this car (flat was easier to make, though). 1921 had square windows, but slanted windshields. I can't explain the lack of cowl lights."
