Among other makers of these classic car(?) impersonators ...are Gatsby & another called Marauder (..I think there are even more similar one's i've seen in books.!!)..most seem to be american.

Not a Zimmer. The 80s Sedans were based on an extended Ford Mustang platform and had a different side profile:

Even the later ones (which were built on Town Cars) had a different arch/wing profile:

This is just something (80s Town Car?) that's been modified.

By the mirrors you can tell it's a Cadillac. After a few google searches, I found it's a 1982 Cadillac Seville modified by Grandeur Motors Corporation in Florida.
Here's another angle of the car taken from the movie:

The "regular" custom Cadillac Seville for the untasteful gentlemen of the 80s looked like this:
That's only half of the modification, but you can see that the base car is really a 1982 Cadillac Seville sedan. Even the wire hubcaps look original.

Now the rest of the mods including both bumpers, lights and the hood could be the result of even further customization, perhaps by Zimmer or similar.

Despite what oKARR says, I think it's a Lincoln Town Car, not a Cadillac Seville. It's got Town Car doors, door handles, opera window AND door mirrors.

I suggest you provide some links because I couldn't find anything.

Does anyone know who manufactures this type of four-door Lincoln/Excalibur hybrid neoclassic car? I'm trying to find a manufacturer but the Russian sites don't really help much.

^ No.

Various manufacturers from the past are known for these conversions, like the ones mentioned above or New York Custom Coach, Empire Coach, Marquis, Knudsen, Baroque etc. Nowadays these cars are mostly built with conversion kits, manufactured by various companies/ people/ UFOs/ things/ animals/ whatnots who all have one thing in common: They're completely unknown! At least to me and everyone else, it seems. :/ I tried to investigate the contemporary whos and whats, but it appears like nobody wants to admit being involved in these projects.

Here's a kit which is very similar to the one used for the car above, yet not the same. What you need is a used Lincoln Town Car, a garage, some craftsmanship, a bit of time, some good luck and no shame.

Dang... you seem to know a whole lot on those neoclassics though! On my search through the ones on here I've seen your name pop up everywhere. Wouldn't surprise me if you even drove a neoclassic, haha. Yeah most of the ones that I love the most look almost like a Zimmer front slapped on a Lincoln body. The rear is very much different than a Zimmer though.

From spending some time trying to find out more about this car on Google, I came across the name "Lincoln Phantom Excalibur Replica", and they all look very similar/identical to the one right here. I'm not sure if that is the specific name for it, or just several Russian sites calling it. But you can just find a lot of them if you search for that.

I think we have our answer to who built it. If it weren't for the ornament, I probably wouldn't have known where to start:

^ If you're insinuating ASC and/ or Wisco or any other coachbuilder from the US were involved in the making of these Lincoln conversion kits: I promise they weren't. ;)

Does that mean it was a Russian production?? I'd love to know more about these cars, if you'd like to go deeper into the topic!

This part of movie set in US (Chicago Airport), with American actor involved in, so rather its not Russian made panels.

Thannks @3loader, I hadn't noticed that. Hence updated version of my earlier comment: "If you're insinuating ASC and/ or Wisco were involved in the making of these Lincoln conversion kits: I promise they weren't." I thought this was one of various Russian-converted Neo Classics we have on the site.

@Coinodeon Please check my former posts on the field of Neo Classic conversions for further general info about this kind of custom cars. The most common types are:

1) Sedan or limousine in the US: Either stretched by a limo coachbuilder like LCW, Krystal, American Custom Coachworks, A.H.A etc. or left in standard wheelbase, converted new or as used car with US-made kits by small companies and body shops. Some of them were small enough to not have any form of brochures or promotional material and merely used pictures and business cards as reference for future customers. The car seen in the main pic above is one of those, I can't tell who made it (even though there is quite a bit of documentation available for a few coachbuilders/ converters).

2) Limousines (maybe also sedans) in Russia and other countries where cyrillic script is used: Used limousines from the US and European countries (usually very cheap to buy and easy to find) are imported, refurbished in Russia (etc.), transformed into Neo Classic limousines with kits like the one I showed above. I never managed to find out who makes these panels and converts those limousines, but there must be various companies/ people/ gangs/ dunno who are specialized in this field and they appear to be very, very busy! The frequent term "Lincoln Phantom Excalibur Replica" appears to be used in a generic sense and definitely isn't licensed by the original right holders. They obviously remind people of the Excalibur roadsters, but are in no way connected. The same goes for the "Phantom" bit - sounds like Rolls Royce, but isn't. It's a transformed Lincoln and surely a replica - just not of an exact car but rather of an idea of what cars from a certain era might have looked like.

Maybe that wasn't as helpful as you were hoping for, but by googling various specialized coachbuilders you should find more than enough about this special interest that most users on this site don't get or don't like.

Thank you for your answer - I'm just asking so specifically about this kind of cars, because I'm fascinated by them and find them (for the most part) not ugly at all. A couple I know used to drive a car that looks strikingly similar to the one in the main picture here, and theirs was just recently sold as 'Mercury Grand Marquis "Golden Hawk"' and there is another one of those that was sold in the Netherlands. Hence my interest in these.

You're very welcome @Coinodeon! :) I feel the same fascination for those cars, but... not everyone's a winner and there are some evil creatures among them in terms of clumsiness, lack of style or just questionable sense of aesthetics. On IMCDb, I believe only CougarTim and Sandie share our interest to some extent (taliking about regular users here), while the majority doesn't care about them or dislikes them.

Anyway, for further info I always recommend browsing the Bob's Classics, Inc. website, even though they sometimes don't mention the coachbuilders or manufacturers. Particularly the stock lists of what they currently have and once had are great collections for people like us. ;)
