Presumably this is Royal Ascot parade footage, but sort of looks like a grasstrack race for regal Rolls Royces. Would they have to let the Queen win? Perhaps Charles, after all his Aston Martin Volantes, is an expert carburettor tuner on the day? -- Last edit: 2011-02-11 23:25:58 |

"...and here comes the pack around the bend, Bonny Prince Charlie in the lead with Lizzy Regina close behind and the Queen Mum is coming on strong, and they're neck and neck down the stretch, and the Queen Mum takes the lead! Queen Mum in the lead! She gives a little wave and pulls ahead..." |

Unfortunately, after some dangerous weaving on the back straight which nearly forced the Gloucesters into the pit wall, stewards realised that the "Queen Mum" was in fact a heavily disguised and typically unrepentant Michael Shoemaker and the Equipe Landaulette team was disqualified. Jenson Button then presented Lizzy Regina with the trophy, and as she stood on the podium listening to the national anthem, she was heard singing "God save our gracious me....". Shoemaker eventually texted the Gloucesters a semi-apology. -- Last edit: 2011-02-12 02:59:08 |
