By the indicators on the rear facia (instead of being located on the rear sides) it is a 1970 model. 'Made for I' by the special license plate holder and lights. I guess a pic from the front would show white front indicators and orange repeaters on the side. Méharis were built in Belgium since the DS production stopped there. |

Actually Belgian 'Usine Citroën Forest' plant was main birthplace of Meharis, in period of 1970-1979 assembly. Please compare numbers of all cars & (Belgian built only). 1970 - 11 246 (7998) = 71% 1971 - 10 175 (8350) = 82% 1972 - 11 742 (10 470) = 89% (!) 1973 - 12 567 (10 359) = 82% 1974 - 13 910 (11 737) = 84% 1975 - 8920 (7233) = 81% 1976 - 9569 (8313) = 87% 1977 - 9645 (7787) = 81% 1978 - 8467 (6377) = 75% 1979 - 8995 (6365) = 71% Let's try to find all export markets for Belgian Meharis, to be fair! Netherlands, Luxembourg, African continent and what else? Italy? Greece? -- Last edit: 2022-06-08 22:45:41 |
