Hillman 16 Tourer 1935. Never been near Longbridge. See "Night and the City" for more views of the same car.

Thanks.
"This car appeared in more cheap British films than George Formby."
These won't be added by me, I've seen George Formby. :D
Peter Sellers was a fan of his though.

Try watching a film called "No Limit" and see what you think of George Shuttleworth's Speed Demon!! What struck me as odd was that the film company would take a 12 year old car all the way from Buckinghamshire to Belfast for a few outdoor shots. It was not so odd to still be using a car that old then, even in films, as cars were in very short supply after the war. My father was reduced to a 1929 BSA three wheeler when he returned from five years in North Africa with the RAF.

Here's the "Speed Demon":

and a modern replica:

but I'm still not tempted to see it. :) in British comedy anything prior Goon Show is to be feared.

Some of the Ealing Comedies were before the Goons, therefore I fear I cannot agree with you. I don't think we produced anything as awful as Abbott and Costello, or Martin and Lewis.

+ Are You Being Served? +... that other camp British comedian of the seventies, I forget his name...

I may have the wrong perception of the 30s 40s era, I'm thinking of comedians like Formby and Gracie Fields. It's true there were several Ealing comedies. Even before that in the thirties Will Hay's "Oh Mr Porter" was a good comedy...

Not that they produced better comedies in Belgium at the time. :D

The Carry On films are a completely special case in awfulness and should be given a category all of their own! The man whose name you search for is John Inman, Mr Humphries in the Are You Being Served films, or possibly Frankie Howerd, yes that is the correct spelling, and Up Pompeii! Howerd was a very special case, being a brilliant stand-up who could work an audience to perfection. His films did suffer from a lack of...........production values...........good scripts...........quality.

I am sure that in Belgium, as in England, there are special cases for which we all make exceptions.

Almost forgot "Carry on Emmanuelle" 1978... 2.2 rating on imdb and no sign of Sylvia Kristel in the cast list. :D

Dick Emery was the one. Also specialized in dressing up as old housewives.

- "The neighbours were at it again last night. All kinds of wicked debauchery going on. Keep me awake all hours of the night they do."
- "Well, didn't you complain to them?"
- "Well yes I did, but they still won't invite me."

In Belgium there never really grew a film industry, I'm already glad if they can make a couple worthwhile movies per decade... Like this very black comedy: /movie_103905-C-est-arrive-pres-de-chez-vous.html

BXE 113 has been ID'd as 20/70 more often than 16.
