I'm going to have to say Custom 300.

The production figures for the 1961 Ford Custom 300 Fordor according to lovefords.org, is 303. If that can be verified by another resource, one which I do not have, then that is an extremely low number. Three cars so far have been added to the IMCDb site for the following films: Infamous, Deacons for Defense, and Moment of Decision, 1961. I don't know if only interior differences existed between the base Fairlane series and the Custom 300 models. Can anyone please help?

The convertible that is pulled over to the side of the road is a 1959 Pontiac (Catalina or Star Chief).

I didn't check the production numbers, but indeed my book "50 years of American automobiles, from 1939" (Publications International, 1989) also mentionsa production of 303 Custom 300s, and 96.602 Fairlanes, and 98.917 Fairlane 500s. Probably the Customm 300 had even less chrome, and this will be more likely to be a Fairlane [58E].

Pilou on this page states there were no "Customs" in 1961, though I don't know if that also means "Custom 300's." I know that in 1960, there was a Custom 300 option for Fairlane fordor and tudor sedans that deleted a few standard features and dropped the price about 30 dollars. Perhaps something similar was done in model year 1961.

So even this car is a Fairlane, though it could be part of that 303, as it appears to have been built for the US Government.
