On second thought, something doesn't add up with the year here. It has the newer (late) grille with Sachsenring logo rather than Horch's H logo, but the tail lights are that of an older P240 Or is this a Horch P240 with the later grille and Sachsenring's logo and trim? -- Last edit: 2020-08-14 19:44:44 |

Perhaps the shot of the rear lights shows the other car. |

As I understand there were 2 versions with such tail lights: The earlier version: (shown here is the 1957 example) The later version: (shown here is the 1958 example, yet strangely enough, still with Horch's logo on the bootlid). So with these tail lights and 'S' badging it should mean it's 1957 only when the company renamed to 'VEB Sachsenring Kraftfahrzeug- und Motorenwerke Zwickau' and ditched the Horch logo, but then the grille/trim should be from 1958/59, yet the tail lights aren't |

I think 1956 only: 'Sachsenring' side badge but still old front indicators |

This 1957/58 brochure shows they still had these type of indicators around that time: https://twitter.com/addict_car/status/1207348549198995457 1958 example as well: /vehicle_628877-Sachsenring-P240-1958.html -- Last edit: 2020-08-14 18:50:36 |
