"Ships" 1-3. The Santos Maru of Osaka, IMO 69822, built in 1952 as the first large ocean-going passenger ship built in Japan after WWII, and served for many years in the trans-Pacific routes including carrying immigrants to the Americas. Scrapped in Taiwan in 1976. (Not to be confused with the earlier 1920s Santos Maru that was sunk during WWII): Link to "ja.wikipedia.org" 4. The Hermod, IMO 5149306, cargo ship built 1949 in Sweden, sold and renamed Loon Chong in 1971, scrapped in Taiwan in 1979: http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=2730848 / Link to "skipshistorie.net" |
