The pink car seems to have an automatic gearshift in one shot, but 3 pedals. |

^ The wonderful world of transmission goofs..... Another contender - in the 1990s, the Italian firm Detailcars released a series of 1:43 Ford Cortina Mk1s. Not brilliant and some errors - one version was labelled Cortina Louts - but they did make the effort of putting a long throw gear lever coming out of the bulkhead in the basic porridge versions and a different short gear lever just in front of the seats on the Lotuses. Solido then bought the castings and released a single porridge saloon, but instead of choosing between the 2 gear lever positions, decided to put one in each of them - so creating a twin transmission Cortina. But it gets worse - Cararama a few years later duplicated the Solido version for their casting (and also franchised it to Oxford Diecasts in UK) and faithfully included both gear levers. |
