 The locomotive started with the BBÖ (Austria) as 629.80 in 1927–38, was renumbered to 77 265 after the annexation 1938–45, saw the end of the war in Yugoslavia and was renumbered 18-005 and used by the JDŽ 1945–53 and the JŽ since. Today it serves as a monument outside the Slovenian Railway Museum.

 It seems to me that the film frames have been considerably squashed across the width because headlamps are oval. When stretched circular, the Essex looks very much like an early Essex. The first car is a puzzle as has bulkhead lights but oddly right hand drive; Peugeot had concave roof top profile. The white car could be a Berliet cca1927. The grey car with chap standing could be an Ansaldo cca1925; crossed cannons on badge. The last car would be the squashed Essex.

 1080p versions of this film can be found online, though the quality is rather soft than sharp...

Maybe it was one of the first Blu-Rays?

 I'd say these should be 720px, but certainly a big improvement over the existing pictures so please feel free to add replacements/thumbs for the others.
