Filmed mostly(?) in the UK. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon:_Detective_Pikachu#Filming Credits on the IMDB indicate reshoots in the USA. |

Even as someone who hates the Pokémon franchise with a burning passion, I was genuinely surprised on how this movie managed to entertain me. Maybe through some miracle, or probably because of Ryan Reynolds, I dunno. |

As a veteran and former Pokemon fan. I'll say that this movie was actually great and enjoyable. -- Last edit: 2020-06-28 17:34:45 |

NitroPlus - Maybe because this movie portrays the world of Pokémon in a way that fans have always wanted to see it (Pokémon living among humans as partners, working in various jobs, a natural part of the world that can be dangerous or friendly, etc.) and shows why it's so appealing to them. Most people who "hate the Pokémon franchise with a burning passion" do so because they experience it by filler anime dub episodes/plush toys/crappy fruit snack commercials from 1999 instead of by the actual games and ideas that underpin it |
