SU-AID was a 1955 Vickers 739 Viscount of United Arab Airlines. On 16 March 1962: "Bad weather at the destination Cairo forced the crew to divert to Wadi Halfa, Sudan. A crash-landing 3 miles West of Wadi Halfa was made following fuel exhaustion." There were no fatalities but SU-AID was damaged beyond repair. IMDb does not say when in 1962 this movie was released, but it's possible the plane was already crashed by then. |
