Movie by Anatol Litvak filmed in France in 1935. Two years later, he will shot his own remake in the USA (The Woman I Love) using numerous sequences from this first film (all the aerial sequences and even some on the ground ... as the Parisian taxi seen in front of the restaurant / plate 1201 B7). The American screenplay is softer (no ground assault seen; characters -in the same given situation- have a more polished spirit and expressions ... "its characterizations are blurred" wrote actually the New-York Times) but action is more embedded in society (cabaret and theater; cars; even ennemy actions / bombing air raid on Paris).
