The locomotive is one of Mr OVS Bullied's very modern Pacifics, either of the Merchant Navy class, or the lighter West Country class. They were known to a generation of English railway enthusiasts as "Spam Cans" for obvious reasons. They operated out of both Victoria and Waterloo stations, if my memory is correct.

The nameplate (round with side extensions) shown on the locomotive looks like its for the Merchant Navy class.

The West Country and Battle of Britain class locomotives had crests or shields I think.
