1950 Leyland Titan PD2/3 RTW362

AEC Regent III
The Brady Bunch (1969-1974)
Looks like an ex London RLH to me. AEC Regent III with lowbridge Weymann body. Not an STL, very few STLs have survived.

Leyland Cub KPO3 C44 Short Brothers
They Met in the Dark (1943)
I've now seen the movie, it's C44. The fleetnumber C44 is seen clearly in the close up on the door, also a London Transport passenger information poster! 2009-11-22 11:25
1955 Leyland Tiger Cub Willowbrook body
Disappearing Britain (2006)
OK - so:
Trent 140-51 (HRC140-51) were Tiger Cub/Willowbrook new 1955. I think 152-61 (NRC152-61) Tiger Cub/Willowbrook new 1959 would be the later Willowbrook body style.
2009-11-10 19:32
1955 Leyland Tiger Cub Willowbrook body
Disappearing Britain (2006)
Is that an *RC registration? Would indicate Trent as the operator. Livery looks like Trent - as the destination appears to be Skegness this would fit.....

1950 Leyland Titan PD2/3 RTW362
Bewitched (1964-1972)
There were RTs RTLs and RTWs with registration KXWxxx, but it's clearly a Leyland and looks like an RTW to me as well. KXW361? or thereabouts. KXW351-450 were RTW251-350, so take your best guess. Route 6 had RTWs from 1951 to 1965. 2009-11-03 13:51
1997 Dennis Javelin Berkhof Axial
James May's Toy Stories (2009)
Can't make the exact registration out, but there was a batch P875-9FMO of Volvo B10M and P881-906FMO Dennis Javelins all with Berkhof body. That looks like P891FMO, Dennis Javelin..... 2009-11-02 14:35
1944 Bedford OWB Duple
Marple: Nemesis (2007)
Sorry, no - it's a 1944 Bedford OWB - but note that it was rebodied in 1952, which is why it looks like an OB! 2009-10-31 22:20

Morris-Commercial Dictator
Car of Dreams (1935)
FWIW I think it is an AEC, but not a Regal - I think it's a Reliance - http://homepages.tesco.net/~greatnorthern/reliance24.jpg 2009-09-27 12:06
1979 Ford R-1014 Duple Dominant II
The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 3/4 (1985-1987)
My mistake - I've now seen the footage - it's JFD289V, a Ford R1014 2009-09-20 00:12
1976 Bedford HA
Olsenbanden gir seg aldri! (1981)
The coach in the middle is a Bedford YRQ with Duple Dominant bodywork with Reliance of Newbury. They had three, UJB725N and UJB726N in 1974, HGM820N in 1975. 2009-09-18 22:30
1959 AEC Bridgemaster
Olsenbanden gir seg aldri! (1981)
80WMH is a 1959 AEC Bridgemaster, originally a demonstrator, with Park Royal body. It's been heavily rebuilt - http://www.mikesbuspages.com/OSBORNES4.jpg shows it in original condition operating with Osbornes of Tollesbury 2009-09-18 22:24
Leyland Olympian Alexander
Largo Winch (2008)

Unknown Plaxton Supreme IV
Schiave bianche: Violenza in Amazzonia (1985)
Plaxton body, yes 2009-09-13 00:59
Daimler Fleetline
Celebrity (1998)
As it's New York I'd go with your first reasoning I think, a (London Transport) DMS-class Daimler Fleetline converted to opentop for New York Apple Tours and the rear engine shrouds removed. 2009-09-12 18:22
1958 Leyland Titan PD2/24 Alexander
Young Adam (2003)
I'd guess the right hand bus is the one in Sunbar's pic, Glasgow L163, a 1958 Titan PD2/24 with Alexander body. The one on the left I'm not sure, but might be Glasgow D217 (FYS999), a 1958 Daimler CVD650-30, also Alexander-bodied. 2009-09-09 21:53
AEC Regent V
Emmanuelle 2 (1975)
AEC Regent V. The decker right in the distance is a Daimler CVG6 2009-08-26 16:23
AEC S-Type

If that's registration XP8252 in front it's NS1066 2009-08-20 20:01
AEC S-Type

The Open Road (1926)
XN7048 would be London General NS92, an AEC NS 2009-08-19 00:17
Leyland Titan
Quatermass 2 (1957)
I've looked at the footage - front one is a Leyland Titan; I'm not sure about the second one. 2009-08-13 01:15
1961 AEC Routemaster RML
The Deadly Affair (1966)
Interesting - Simone Signoret is followed onto this RML outside Victoria Coach Station on route 188. By the time she gets off again (see the screencap for the RT) it's metamorphosed into an RT, also on route 188. In 1966 the 188 was operated by RTs during the week and RMs on Saturdays. This might not be strictly a continuity glitch, just an indication that filming happened on two different days! 2009-07-28 12:47
1985 MCW Metroliner Open Top
Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List (2005-2010)
Opentop MCW Metroliner working for (as you can see) Travel with Hunny. Same bus was used for a documentary called 'Dawn Gets Naked' - in that show it was still carrying adverts inside for its previous operator, the Original London Sightseeing Tour; B240LRA was new in 1985 as City of Oxford 901, registration B901XJO.

Leyland PD3/3
Fantômas contre Scotland Yard (1967)
I've had a look at the movie myself now - the end of the scene with the pipe band has the very faintest glimpse of another 'decker - and it looks like an Edinburgh Corporation, not Glasgow Corporation..... 2009-07-07 22:34
AEC Regent III RT4380
The Horse's Mouth (1958)
...so would have registration NLP545 if you saw it from the front or back! 2009-07-06 01:10
1954 AEC Regent III RT4656
The Horse's Mouth (1958)
I'd settle for that! 2009-07-06 01:08
1950 Leyland Titan PD2/3 RTW477
The Horse's Mouth (1958)
Leyland RTW, RTW477 (LLU977) 2009-07-06 01:07
unknown Alexander Y
Fantômas contre Scotland Yard (1967)
The coach seen from behind has Alexander Y bodywork and looks like it's in Eastern Scottish livery. I'd be guessing at the make, though. 2009-07-03 18:44
Leyland PD3/3
Fantômas contre Scotland Yard (1967)
I think you're right, the green 'decker looks like an Eastern Scottish Lodekka.
As for the main pic, the blue/white coach appears to be a Bedford VAS with Duple body.
The distant black and white coach I'd suggest is Western Scottish, but I'd be guessing at the identity.
The red 'decker looks lowbridge - I'm working on that!

1980 Volvo B58 Plaxton Supreme IV
Ashes to Ashes (2008-2010)
The other two Kenzies coaches seen in this not very convincing evocation of Victoria Coach Station in the 1980s are:
XVE8T Volvo B58-61 with Plaxton body new in 1979
LEW16W Volvo B10M-61 with Plaxton body new in 1981
(thanks to John Wakefield for the ids - see John's site at http://wakefield-files.freehostia.com/ )

1954 Bristol KSW6B Lowbridge Eastern Coachworks
Equus (1977)
...found a reference to it - JBD965, 967 and 982 were used for sightseeing tours by Toronto Transit Commission between 1974 and 1977. A 2001 note by Roger Hardy on the British Buses Abroad in North America Yahoo group notes all three were sold to a dealer in Chattanooga, Tennessee after the 1977 season. So this bus was already in Toronto when 'Equus' was filmed. 2009-06-24 20:09
1954 Bristol KSW6B Lowbridge Eastern Coachworks
Equus (1977)
Bristol KSW with Eastern Coachworks lowbridge body, new in 1954. JBD965 was new to United Counties fleet number 928 (and therefore green when new!), but seen here in 1977 in Hants and Dorset National Bus Company-era colours. Route 47 to Southampton is genuine, but I don't believe the bus ever ran for Hants and Dorset, and certainly not in 1977 in this livery. See http://sct61.org.uk/uc928.htm for a 2004 photograph, by which time the bus had been exported to the US 2009-06-24 13:22
