Scoop (1992-1996)
Doubtful it’s a '87 or '88, as production was restricted during those model years. They were all "Crew Cabs" in either 3+3 Cab or Bonus Cab configurations. This one appears to have a back seat, so a 3+3.

1990 Chevrolet Suburban Silverado [V-1500]
Unearthed (2007)
Indeed, it has the refreshed 1989 grille and grille work, but it also has electric side mirrors added for 1990.

Suburban Silverado (V-1500) with shift-on-the-move InstaTrac four-wheel drive and possibly the optional Eaton ADL intelligent rear differential lock. The Eaton ADL was sort of a rare option.

1977 Chevrolet C/K-Series
Unearthed (2007)
Appears to be a cab only, so a pickup rather than utility. But with this capture, it could be either a C- or K- Series, also the class, pickup box, and equipment level are unknown. 2013-05-17 00:19
1979 Chevrolet Blazer Cheyenne [K-5]

Death Wish 4: The Crackdown (1987)
Police car fan, could you get another capture of the pickup from the rear (like in the third thumbnail) but showing more of the front axle?

The Chevrolet grille is a replacement, from the 1975 model year only, as it has the engine displacement in the third row of the second column (counting from the drivers side). Chevrolet stopped putting the engine displacement on grilles for 1976.

The pickup (which is a GMC) is newer due to the dual front lap-and-shoulder safety belts introduced for the 1976 model year. So the truck is far newer than the grille, plus it does not fit properly. All badges say GMC, and the equipment level badge says Sierra.

No Chevrolet pickup was used.

I'm sure the Volvo could run on wet grass with a trailer, but only as long as the soil supported its weight. They have ABS brake-based traction control to manage wheelslip and transfer torque.

Near Dark (1987)
The engine is not particularly relevant, but I always add extra info or trivia when I identify a vehicle.

As for a California truck with the 350 V-8 being moved to another state, sure its possible (especially in surrounding states that border California) – but it would be a rare occurrence elsewhere in the U.S. For one, the 350 V-8 was only available with shift-on-the-move all-wheel drive, and only one manufacturing plant supposedly made them, the General Motors Fremont Plant in Fremont, California. So that greatly limits their production numbers.

There are only few working examples left, so they would be about as rare as a 1987 model with the 350 V-8.

1985 GMC K-1500 Sierra Classic Wideside
Near Dark (1987)
Yes. Starting with the 1981 model year through 1986, the torque-happy 5.7 liter 16-vavle 350 pushrod V-8 was dropped from the half-ton class C/K pickups in all states except California.

The reason was that the newly updated 5.0 liter 302 V-8 with ESC did not meet California’s emissions requirements. So the bigger, more powerful 5.7 V-8 was offered in its place.

For the 1987 model year, GM made the 5.7 350 V-8 available (as an optional extra) in all half-ton pickups, in all states, with factory fuel injection. For that reason, 1987 models are highly sought-after by collectors, both because of the 350 V-8 and factory fuel injection.

1977 Chevrolet Blazer Cheyenne [K-5]
Cyborg Cop (1993)
Odd color combination, seems to be Frost White and Mariner Blue, but reversed with blue as the center color. The grille work is painted (Frost White), so either it’s a special edition this, or its just been customized as the grille guard implies.

She is permanent full-time four-wheel drive, with the luxury Cheyenne equipment package.

Ddey65 wrote 1977-79. I can just see enough of the grille behind the grille guard.

Nope. Rather 1977-1978 only.

The Following (2013)
2009-2013 Ford Expedition XLT Gen 3 (U324)

Ford is not (yet) a sponsor of the show. Ford badges and emblems are hidden, blacked-out or removed in this show.

Expeditions are chosen mostly for authenticity (the FBI uses a number of them in its fleet of FBI vehicles) so it’s a little strange for Ford not to want to immediately sponsor the show.

Seeing the Expedition as a FBI fleet vehicle is a breath-of-fresh-air, as the show’s producers could have used the ubiquitous Suburban which is also a FBI fleet vehicle. Without a formal sponsorship, they could switch over to Suburbans and Tahoes.

robi wrote I somehow like this car...

Its not loved as much as its predecessor (the original Range Rover) or its successor (the L322), but it was indeed a nice vehicle. I like them too.

Its 4x4 system was not the best out of the group, but it redeemed itself in 1999 when four-wheel electronic traction control was introduced. At that point the ugly-duckling became a swan in terms of engineering.

Previous models from 1995-1998 only had two-wheel electronic traction control (active on the rear wheels only).

It’s the standard (base) low level Sierra trim, and no forward cross-member or transfer case denotes rear-wheel drive (two-wheel drive) only.

2008 Ford Expedition EL Eddie Bauer Gen.3 [U354]
The Guilt Trip (2012)
That's okay then. I can see it has the 20-inch alloy wheels and painted body work which denotes the higher trim level. The running board seem retracted which would date the SUV as a 2008 or newer model.

Its probably much newer than that, but without a clearer capture, 2008 is the best I can do.

2013 Land-Rover Range Rover 5.0 Supercharged Series IV [L405]
Top Gear (2002-2013)
Well, the Range Rover is not invincible. It will get stuck or blow a tire at some point, if you take it off road.

There have never been a 4x4 made that has never gotten stuck, blown a tire, popped a tire of a wheel or experienced some failure while off road. They won’t show stuff like that because it would make the Range Rover look bad.

2008 Ford Expedition EL Eddie Bauer Gen.3 [U354]
The Guilt Trip (2012)
No other views?

Its covered in snow buildup and road grime, which makes deciphering the trim level difficult and hides certain areas that are used to narrow the model year range.

Its length suggests a long-wheelbase EL, and front freighter-sized closed-loop recovery points announce full-time four-wheel drive. "Auto" mode would be used for winter driving (seen here) allowing the intelligent center multi-disc differential to route torque where needed.

Indeed, night cub is spot on.

The pickup box was likely sourced from another, older Rounded-Line pickup as the fuel port is the original exposed port used from ’73 to ’78. The tailgate is from ’81 to ’87. The pickup box and tailgate are easy to remove and replace.

The cab and front end is a 1980 model. Its a three quarter-ton class K-Series four-wheel drive.

1997 Ford Explorer XLT [UN105]
Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei (1996-2013)
Indeed the U.S. spec Ford Explorer in the first thumbnail has the SecuriCode keyless entry keypad. The Ford Expedition also features this system.

The vehicles are pre-assigned a 5 digit combination security pass code. The owner must key-in the correct pass code to unlock the drivers door. The key pad is also multi-touch allowing the remaining doors (including liftgate) to be unlocked or locked via depressing two specific keys at once.

SecuriCode works with the SecuriLock anti-theft system, so when the lock command is entered, the vehicle doors are locked and the engine immobilization and intrusion alarm is armed. In newer Fords, this is augmented by a more sophisticated perimeter alarm.

The 5 digit combination security pass code is printed in the owners manual for quick reference and memorizing. The owner may also program his or her own 5 digit combination.

Ford is currently the only U.S. manufacturer that offers this system in the U.S. Its used on their cars, vans, and trucks, not just the SUVs. I’m not sure if they offer it on European spec models.
