Absolutely right. In the years of 1951 and 1952, Mercedes-Benz produced the 170 D OTP (= Offener Tourenwagen Polizei) for official use in the Bundesgrenzschutz (BGS) and the state Bereitschaftspolizei units. All units were painted in polizeigrün. (Except the ones which were delivered to the police force of West Berlin, which were all painted dark blue.) Cheers! Kay |
