Maybe in ZA VW had used some older bits for the next MY's, but it's also not unlikely, that some owners took unoriginal parts for the repair or restoration. If it belongs to the same car, as the thumbnails from the other Type 1 listed, then it has 1962-63 rear end (lamps with amber indicators and the smaller "shell"). Could be a newer 1200 rear end, but the window rubber is with chrome - as is the thumbnail. And the wipers indicate pre-August 1964. Could also be the changes were not the same as in Germany.
