Return to Macon County (1975) mike962 DEI don't think this movie might get a DVD release main reason for this are all those 50s music they used i it which very likely is still copyrightet 2012-04-28 17:02
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe [2454]
Return to Macon County (1975)
portacker USA hardtop, not a post car, makes it most likely a Belair. With the chrome removed, not possible to tell. For sure.

1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe [2454]
Return to Macon County (1975)
buck USThe beat up yellow Chevy sat in a field in south Georgia for 25 years after filming. It was for sale about 8 years ago in Atlanta. It was in bad shape, the guy wanted $4,700.00 for the body. I kicked it around but I did not buy it. I confirmed the authenticity of the car. The car with the chrome engine compartment was only used in the engine scenes. This movie was filmed in and around Macon Georgia. It is a true cult classic and it helped make me love 57 Chevys. I have pictures of the car taken when I looked at it. 2011-12-22 17:53
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe [2454]
Return to Macon County (1975)
portacker USWatched this "On Demand", and I saw at least 2 yellow Bel Airs. One car has chrome inside the removed grill area and one doesn't. Another convertible 57 is a derelict on the side of the road. Many late 60's and early 70's car are visable in the backround. Not too believable for 1959, but that's the American International Pictures way!

1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe [2454]
Return to Macon County (1975)
DynaMike NLNot a One-Fifty (they were not available as hardtop), but since all the trim has disappeared during the 'restauration' it might be indeed a Two-Ten Sport Coupe [2154] or a Bel Air Sport Coupe [2454] There were about 8 times more Bel Airs, though... 2009-07-01 21:42

stpaulcarguy USare we sure this is a bel-air? if i had to guess, the lack of chrome makes me think it may be a one-fifty or a two-ten. comments anyone? 2009-07-01 07:11

Ddey65 wrote I don't see any stars on the sides, so I'm going to guess it's the Chieftan.

Checking Chieftain & Star Chief models, the grille of Chieftain looks something different, specially below front fender http://www.cardatabase.net/search/photo_search.php?id=00072115 http://www.cardatabase.net/search/photo_search.php?id=00065639
Front part looks here (in my opinion) more as Star Chief http://www.cardatabase.net/search/photo_search.php?id=00047458 http://www.cardatabase.net/search/photo_search.php?id=00041761 , or even as here identificated as "Star Chief Custom Catalina". http://www.cardatabase.net/search/photo_search.php?id=00071710
