1926 Austin 20/4 Hearse Thomas Startin That's Your Funeral (1972)	Animatronixx	sixteensix wrote This vehicle was the first motorised hearse in use on the Isle of Mann, and was saved for preservation by a matter of minutes as the scrapman was about to smash it up with an axe when it was spotted. This vehicle appeared as the hearse in the T/V series 'In Loving Memory'. One lasting memory I have of this vehicle is being asked to enter the London to Brighton run (for commercial vehicles) as part of a funeral cortage. Half way down to Brighton I had the misfortune to run into the back of the 'Mourning' car which was just in front of me, causing some minor damage to headlamp and front wing. However worse was to come when the organisers of the run took a dim view of our 'portrayal' and banned us from entering again! 92 FLU is still around, but has since been re-registered, and would need a lot of work done to it if it was ever to appear in films again. Red Lion Automobiles Ltd. offered this kind of simply converted hearses based on Canadian Ford chassis in the early sixties. The car shown here would be most likely converted by Thomas Startin (aka. Startins). I wonder where´s the other hearse of "That´s your funeral", seen most of the time during the whole movie.
