| 1952 Morris Minor Répulsion (1965) |
Sunbar ![]() | Comparing the picture again with the contrast adjusted with the Morris Oxford MO and the Minor its almost certainly a Morris Minor. The Oxford MO only had the rectangular (not 'square') numberplate for 1948-49 and it also had an offset 'D' shaped stop-rear lamp on the right side not seen here. Also the fuel filler cap was in the left hand wing area on the Oxford MO whereas the Minor's was in the panel surround next to the boot not the wing. The fuel filler here matches the Minor's position. 1952 Morris Minor. |

| Répulsion (1965) |
cl82 ![]() | I watched the movie last night; as you all said before, it is a masterpiece. The use of background music and light, Deneuve's stunning performance, and the camera angles create an atmosphere that was never achieved again in cinema history. Though I am not the biggest Polanski fan I have to admit that this movie is both subtle and disturbing as well. | 2009-05-16 21:16

| 1960 Wolseley 1500 MkII [ADO27] Répulsion (1965) |
Sunbar ![]() | Looking at this again and from other identifications.... Compared with the Wolseley the Riley had a shorter (finishing on the driver's door) chrome trim compared to the Wolseley's full length trim. The trim is visible here on the side of the rear wing so it is a Wolseley after all. |

| 1962 Jaguar Mk.X Répulsion (1965) |
antp ![]() | Still about this one, I remember that at a time it was said that even Jaguar used various name styles at various places. Wasn't it the reason why we decided to use "Mk." in all cases? Could some other admin give comments? Or do I have to rename Mk.X to Mark X ? And what about IX ? | 2007-05-05 23:37
| 1960 Wolseley 1500 MkII [ADO27] Répulsion (1965) |
Sunbar ![]() | The Wolseley 1500 was certainly available without the two-tone paint finish as was the Riley. But Riley is OK for me without a clearer view. ![]() Riley or Wolseley it's a Series II model from May 1960 onwards, without the chromed boot hinges. |

| 1960 Wolseley 1500 MkII [ADO27] Répulsion (1965) |
DynaMike ![]() | Almost all pictures I've seen of the Wolseley 1500 show two-tone paint, divided halfway the sides; Riley One Point Fives usually are painted in one single colour (or if two-tone, then it's just the roof that's different). So indeed I guess it's quite sure that this car is the Riley. | 2007-05-05 15:19
| 1956 Morris ½-Ton MkIII Répulsion (1965) |
DynaMike ![]() | It is indeed. In http://www.austin-rover.co.uk/ I found a picture of this car as a milk van, and the following text: Morris ½-ton Series III 1956-1962 Based on the Series III Morris Oxford, this model replaced the Cowley MCV. Load capacity for the standard van remained at 120-138 cu ft, and again it could also be ordered as a pick-up or chassis-cab, for bespoke coachwork such as that seen here. Six years later, it was discontinued in favour of the Morris versions of the new Austin A55 van (below). |

| Répulsion (1965) |
sixcyl ![]() | ![]() I loved to watch this film with a beautiful and affecting Catherine Deneuve (Carole Ledoux in the story) and this panel of british cars of the sixties most are backgrounds with no many pics without figuring Deneuve...but who would complain to? The gap between the fragility, the beauty of Deneuve and her psychotic behaviour disturbs a lot so the atmosphere isn't light at all, rather dull blue-green, and Polanski reach quite well his project to send the spectactators in Mrs Ledoux 's fears. |
