benny | Yes, surely, I was mistaken... The W140 had in 1991-1994 three 300 SE/SEL, with 2.8, 3.0 or 3.2 engine. In 1994, with the big restyling, the 300 SE 2.8 and 3.2 were continued to sold as the right badge: S 280 and S 320/S 320 L. |

benny | It is a post restyling version, so can't be a 280 S. The 280 S/SE/SEL were the basical version between 1980 and 1985, when the W126 was restyled (new lateral bumpers, lights and so on) and the 280 was replaced by the 260 SE and the 300 SE/SEL, all injection.
