AH 136 is listed on DVLA. This is according to the RAC site but no details shown there. |

It is obviously a steamer - note the chauffeur (fireman) at the back. Maybe a Bollee?? |

The information I have ( Early Motor Vehicles ,Motor cars with 4 wheels 1894 to 1899, by B.W. Garrett in :Veteran and Vintage Magazine volume 18 number 3 pp 78-79november 1973) is that AH 136 is a 1897 Soame Steam Cart with Wagonette body( in this review it does not spel Soames with an S but Soame , so I ignore if it has anything to do with the English Soames 2 cylinder petrol engined cars produced later by the Langdon Davies Motor Co of London from 1903 to 1906).Its Veteran Car Club date certificate number is 395 |

Good find and identification. Steam cart or waggonette built in 1897 by Sidney George Soame from the Perseverance Works of Marsham, Norfolk England, features briefly at the start of the film 'Genevieve'. The vehicle (which is preserved in full working order by the Hon. William McAlpine) now resides in Hampshire. -- Last edit: 2007-04-14 11:17:44 |
