It could be a blue one indeed, since the details tell it's a 1960 version: defroster on the right side of the steering wheel since June 1959, new plastic framed rear view mirror since July and new, slightly rounded, plastic sunvisor (folded to the left, cf Francisharley's second thumbnail) since November of the same year; and still with the old bonnet that was going to be changed on the 12th of December 1960. |

Btw there's a big difference in comfort and technology between theseold 2CVs and modern cars, indeed. Nowadays seats are hard as wood and suspension is almost totally absent. A 2CV from 1960 used about 5 litres of gas per 100 kms, which is better than most modern cars. Although I must admit that modern cars are faster (but not in town or in traffic jams) and less noisy. Personally I think that all the modern safety equipement is not really a progress - the safer the car appears, the unsafer the driver behaves. |
