Slip of the pen? This is not a 180 but a 1959+ 190 (Heckflosse with indicators on top of the front fenders) with extra lights under the headlamps. |

First of all this short variant of 220SE body occured in 1960/1961 with the 220S and 220SE..the 190/190D came in production in April 61 . This one has is a 1964 model, with indicators under the head lights |

Sorry, but the front indicators are on the front wings, near the doors. Below the headlights, this car sports the optional fog lamps. So, I would say 1961+. |

Yes, I was wrong with that year 1959, the 190 being introduced at the Automobilausstellung Frankfurt in 1961. But the indicators are still on top of the front fenders, so Rpcm is right, mentioning 1961. |

I must apologize rpcm (and Mike too) , I thought this lights were indicators and not fog lamps, and the indicators on the wings used as "repetitors", but it seems wrong...  But whatever this question, the 1964 model still have indicators lights on the wings near the doors, when the "fogs lights" are non-optional device on the models 1964/65..then why not 1964? rather an optional equipment on a 1961 model? So it should be an 1964 model  |

Eh oui, Sixcyl, on ne peut pas exclure l'année 1964... Selon Rétroviseur #15, le modèle 190 a été produite d'août 1961 jusqu'à juillet 1965. Mais quand-même, ici on a l'habitude de dater les voitures au premier date de présentation, n'est-ce pas? |

Celà ne me gêne pas plus que ça , Mike...et je cautionne cette règle d'or, d'ailleurs! .. sauf que pour ces Mercos, il y a un risque que l'on date de façon anticipée toutes les versions 64 dûment équipées de série avec ces anti-brouillards, au seul motif d'une éventualité d'être en présence de modèles antérieurs equipés d'accessoires optionnels. Or, la probabilité rentre en ligne de compte dans ce cas. L'option "feux anti-brouillards" était elle très fréquente parmi les clients de la 190 de 1962? ..si oui, alors je suis d'accord, si non un peu moins...mais qui peut le dire? .gif ":)") |

I think I just didn't get what you meant... Je m'excuse It is quite probable indeed that this will be a 1964-model. Some 190s with these extra lamps are listed as 1962s some as 1964s. |
