Would this be a commercial chassis? |

From the markings (script) on the LH front fender, you can tell this one was built on the Cadillac commercial chassis for 1953 by the Superior Coach Corporation of Lima, OH. |

Did anyone else notice that the imitation landau bars on the rear quarters are installed upside down (i.e. the LH bar should be on the right of the car and the RH bar on the left). |

You´re right! I only noticed that something was wrong with the car somehow. So we can suppose the vinyl roof had been already replaced. These mistakes mostly happen when a hearse gets reconditioned in a smaller bodyshop without any deeper relation to the funeral business. If they don´t manage to ruin the landau bars by breaking them apart, they confuse them in the process of reassembling... ![]() It´s a "Superior Landaulet" btw. |
