1st impression Galant Sigma, 2nd Subaru, but the hood is wrong for both of them.

Nope (and nor Argenta).

Something Japanese. I was thinking about Mitsubishi Galant but it doesn't match.

I first thought about a Subaru, but it's too big for that. Maybe a Toyota Cressida ?

Mitsubishi Galant Sigma?

Sigma and Subaru were also my 1st ideas - see my 1st comment below main pic.

Here, on the right a little of the rear is visible:

Renault 18 or Fuego?
Maybe with a damaged headlight.

For R18 it has different hood and edges of the windows (and perhaps different type of roof assembly).
I'm not convinced by Cressida - it looks that car in movie has metal bumpers with plasitc side edges.

How about Datsun Skyline, like this one?

Still not a perfect match + was the version with squared headlamps imported to Europe?

Was the Datsun Skyline exported to Europe at all?

Yes.

Galant seems like the best suggestion so far.

In Galant hood has only one crease in the middle, the car in movie has different hood - the best visible in the 2nd thumb - 1st comment.

Unless that is a reflection of a pole or cable or something above it.

A pole or a Pole? :D (it's a Polish film..)

:D

Seriously, you cannot see the right crease very well, just the one on the left, so I'm assuming it is a shadow.

The right crease is visible on the main pic. ;) You can see that the dark shadow/reflection is, let's say, broken in one place and there is a little step.
The edges of windows where roof meets the A pillar are also different.

One more thing, the white "squared headlamps Galant" is a later version with bumper of different type than in movie car.
More similar would be this pre-facelifted car:
/vehicle_771650-Mitsubishi-Galant-Sigma-A123-1979.html
but still it doesn't cancel the important differences mentioned above.

This pic is indeed convincing.
I'm only curious when did they have such bumpers, as on IMCDb and among Google results all 1981 Cressidas seem to have full plastic ones...

Old spare parts diagrams show the Cressida was indeed available with steel bumpers.
