In the United States, we had a few Impreza models for MY2001. Unfortunately, the WRX STi was not one of them. The Subaru Impreza WRX STi didn't make its USDM debut until MY2004. The first STi allowed into the United States market for new car sales was the 2004 WRX STi and it was GD bodied, but had the blobeye face, not the roundeye. The round eye Impreza is the first of the GD bodies, and it was not in the USA market until MY2002. The first 2.0L (ej205) turbo models was in fact the 2002 Impreza WRX. The car you see in the movie NERVE, is a MY2002-2003 Impreza WRX. If it was an STi model, from Japan or otherwise, you would have seen Brembo brakes, and it would have had a much larger hood scoop opening for the larger top mount intercooler the STi comes with. |
