Not in all cases I think.... Link to "www.sharpos-world.co.uk" Probably badging is the only reliable way to identify Morris or Austin. Morris J4 1960-1974, also sold as Austin J4 and Austin Morris J4 |

yes, I found that to be a bit confusing too, are we going to call this Austin/Morris J4 or BMC J4 |

The J designation was introduced by Morris and the vans were first produced in the Morris Commercial plant starting with the J-Type in 1949. This was succeeded by the JB in 1957 and the J4 in 1960. In 1956 the J2 followed by 250JU in 1967. In 1952 BMC decided to sell these as Austin in addition to Morris so they would be available from the separate dealerships. I propose we list them as Morris unless it can be shown otherwise. |
