comment from the forum:
Quote Red car in background is actually Rootes Sunbeam Alpine (or possibly Tiger) pre-1965 not Thunderbird as listed.

I don't know which one is right, as the wheel arches of both models seem rounder than those from this picture...

That is not an Alpine or Tiger. It’s too big and the boot is far too long.

That is decidedly a Thunderbird.

And a '55, with no indication of a fender side vent.

I have to admit rear wheel arch appears to be boxier and arch seems up higher. Was going to post a comparison pic but don't see how or any other pics for that matter (EDIT: did read FAQ but never learned BBC). Too many here recognize as T-Bird so probably is correct.

@orbsphere - as probably the site's biggest fan of Rootes-jewels, I fully applaud your efforts to increase our count of Alpines/Tigers, but sadly this is not one. Proportions don't fit, there's no fuel cap on the rear wing, windscreen curves too much, etc. But don't give up the quest .....

To post pics here in the comments, just click "store pictures on the site" above the comment area. In the new window that opens, browse for your picture, submit it, it will give you a code that you can copy and past to your message where you want the pic to appear.
