The GMC Syclone (pickup version of the Typhoon) was built in '91 and was available in black only. The '92 model Syclones were going to be available in colors, but they were cancelled. There were 10 red Marlboro Syclones given away as prizes in a Marlboro contest. The Typhoon as shown here was built from '92 - '93. Typhoons were available in an array of colors for both years. You can tell the years apart when you see one on the street by looking at the Typhoon logo decals on the doors and tailgate. In '92 they were gray and in '93 they were yellow. |

actually this particular Typhoon is Bright Teal which was only available in 1992. In 1993 only the following colors were available: # Black # Apple Red # Frost White # Garnet Red # Royal Blue Metallic # Forest Green Metallic # Raspberry Metallic |

It's a prototype 1991 Typhoon. See link http://www.syty.org/old/history.html 1991 Typhoon * 4 Produced * Salvage Titles * Colors are: o Black with Gray o Aspen Blue with Gray (Cloth interior) o White with Black (unpainted cladding) o Black with no cladding * The Blue Ty is known to be in Lansing, MI, with roughly 500 miles on the odometer. This is the Typhoon that was featured in Lethal Weapon 3. The White/Black Ty is also known to be in Michigan (Bloomfield Hills). Last known it had 7500 miles. Both of these were once for sale, and could have been bought for ~$22k from the owners. |

We can still list it as SUV. The "proto/concept" category is more for concept cars or early prototypes, not for pre-release models which look like the final one. |

I need some help ! I bought a typhoon on 1/13/12 that was sitting at a local body shop for the past two years in Brighton ,mi. When I got the title it read 1991 .the title matches the vin tag and the trim tag reads a build date of 11/90 .the vin is. 1GKCT18Z3M0521382 .the typhoon is black with gray trim . Alex396; Letter number 10 in the VIN code shows which model year a car is. You have an M as nr10 which makes it a 1991 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_Identification_Number But if you have a 1991 it should be one of the four I listed. Is yours black, white or the Aspenblue movie car? |
