The ubiquitous "Plodge" GranDiploFuryMat. |

Now, you know there really isn't such a thing as a "Plodge"...let alone a "GranDiploFuryMat." ![]() |

It's Gran Fiflomat! BTW, sometimes they don't show other parts of the car. -- Last edit: 2007-03-30 06:09:16 |

Are you going to give this name to all the M-Body Chryslers you can't identify? ![]() ![]() For the record, I don't think this is a Plymouth Gran Fury. |

I think it's a 1988 NYPD Diplomat |

What makes you say that? |

It's probably an ex NYPD patrol car, for the Gran Fury was decomissioned around 1992, and the only NYPD Chryslers that remained by the time this movie was filmed had to by Diplomats. But in my opinion, it's a guess! |

I don't understand. Both the Dodge Diplomat and Gran Fury were discontinued in 1989, and I thought that the bulk of the NYPD fleet was Gran Furys. |

The first Chryslers were LeBarons in 1981, then the Gran Fury in 1983, and a mix of Chevy Caprices and Diplomats (1987-1988) |

I'm not questioning your knowledge or anything, so don't take it the wrong way, but were did you get this information? Just curious to know, that's all. |

I thought that the Diplomats in the NYPD were very few and far between. If this was an NYPD vehicle, then wouldn't the wheels be painted in the same color of blue as the rest of the car? |
◊ 2007-04-01 03:03 |
Yes. I think that was part of a half and half, in which one group had these wheels, and the other had the sky blue painted fleet rims. |

It's pretty obvious that it's a 1988 |
