Ah, I thought it was HBK357. I searched for HBK353 and found this: https://www.flickr.com/photos/autojumblr/24519463090/sizes/l The guy with it looks like the character who uses it in this series so I'm thinking it's a promotional picture from the show. Years later, someone has found it and uploaded it to Flickr thinking it was just a random guy with a Reliant. More recent picture: https://www.flickr.com/photos/philrandle/5811367801/sizes/l |

1950-1954 Reliant Regent 12 cwt van (a Regent 8 cwt van was also produced cannot say if visibly different). Link to "archive.commercialmotor.com" In March 1950 an improved van was introduced... "A feature of the modified 8-cwt and 12-cwt three-wheeled vans ... Body modifications include an enlarged windscreen, an all-metal dashboard, and locking door handles. The carrying space has been increased and the driver's seat is of a comfortable bucket type. Deeper side windows are fitted and the door windows are of safety glass. ..... The name of "Regent" has been added to the latest vans." Link to "archive.commercialmotor.com" Replaced with a plastic bodied version in September 1954. -- Last edit: 2016-10-21 22:55:17 |

12cwt had longer load bed and beefier tyres. There was also a 10cwt, but unsure if this was a 3rd version or a more realistic downgrading of the 12cwt-named version. There was also an early 1950s body change from round arches to squared off - unsure if part of the 1950 relaunch or followed soon after. Regent Mk.II in 1954 had new box-shaped front body with car-like grille and headlights; production ended 1956. |
