Perhaps appropriate for the following bit of trivia from the wonderful world of motor cars that this view makes the Cedric look a bit like an Austin A55 Cambridge. I've just read a claim that the reason for a long sequence of cars being named Cedric is a grateful tribute to a senior Austin negotiator called Cedric who arranged the licensing and tooling transfers for the Nissan-built A40 Somersets in the 1950s; Nissan's president promised to name one of its leading models in his honour, and have kept that promise for over 50 years. I like nice stories. |
